Lake Superior & Ashland WI

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

This is an older painting from last year but I didn’t have a photo of it until recently, it lives near Lake Superior now.  It is an image of looking out towards the Ore-dock in Ashland WI.  If you get a chance to explore Ashland there are several wonderful historic murals around the city, a great food coop which is next to the Black Cat, and several creative people working throughout the community it is also home to Northland College.

Woman in the Window24 x 36″ Acrylic on Board- for site specific project

Last weekend I completed a project that was something completely different to tackle with paint.  A friend has an old window frame up at second story in her hallway.  The house has been added on so there is wall on the other side of the window frame that has been left in place.  It is a beautiful old victorian farm house, with a very playful but elegant decor inside.  Most people may not notice this window frame high above thier heads, but if they do, this woman will now be watching all that passes through the hallway.

Sick Day…

Monday, December 22nd, 2008

What to do on a sick day?  It is not like it was when I was little, I almost remember sick days being fun!  I’m catching up on some emails and organizing some of my computer files.  Pretty boring compared to watching old movies from the library with my mom when I was a kid!

Snow snow beautiful snow

Saturday, December 20th, 2008

All of the trees are weighted down with snow, driving through the Upper Pennisula of Michigan today it was beautiful!  Hope to post some photos up tomorrow when I return to St Paul MN, which I hear is also covered in snow.  The snow makes for inspiration around every bend as the snow transforms the normal streets and brightens up the night .
