Flaming Lips
Monday, July 28th, 2008Thought I would include this clip as I was working at the 10,000 Lakes Festival Last week, and saw the Flaming Lips Perform. The confetti and lights reminded me of stepping into a painting!
Lake Benson Study
Monday, July 14th, 2008This is a very small 4x 6″ acrylic study on a canvas board, of the old cedar trees by Lake Benson near Finland MN. I camped for 3 nights at Tettegouche State Park at the beginning of July. I missed it but my husband even saw a moose while hiking and an attacking grouse. Here is an article from the MN department of Natural Resources describing the area.
Swede Hollow Park-
Monday, July 14th, 2008This is a photo from last month, I really started rushing this study in oil, as it started to rain. Swede Hollow is a unique little corner of East St Paul (MN), but this particular day as soon as I got set up, the clouds circled in and the rain poured down! Ended up taking cover under the twisted stone bridge, where we found a dry viewing place of the storm and sharing the dry cover with a man drinking a 40. If you are walking in the Swede Hollow area be sure to stop in at the Water & Oil Gallery and the Swede Hollow Cafe.
St Paul River View
Monday, July 14th, 2008
St Paul River view, acrylic on maple board. I’ll have to tackle this view another time, this didn’t really come out the way I had envisioned, I think it needs to be worked on in a larger scale. This piece is 9 x 12″. I’m going to put it aside and revisit it later.
